Stand Awakening

Development & AI

Stand Awakening was developed approximately 90% with the assistance of AI tools.

I worked primarily as the creative director, designing the game's concepts, mechanics, characters, balance, progression and overall direction while using AI to handle most of the programming, implementation and parts of the visual production.

This project is also an experiment in seeing how far a complete game can be taken with AI-assisted development when guided by a human creative direction.

The game was built through many iterations, playtests, bug fixes and redesigns, with every major creative decision being directed by me.

About

Stand Awakening is a JoJo-inspired top-down roguelike where every run begins with the awakening of a random Stand.

Fight through 25 rooms, survive increasingly dangerous enemy waves, collect upgrades, and face a boss every 5 rooms. Each Stand comes with its own abilities and playstyle, making every new awakening change the way you approach a run.

Local Co-op — Experimental

Local Co-op is currently in Beta and may contain bugs or unfinished features. If one player dies, the surviving player must finish the current enemy waves to bring their partner back into the fight.

The mode is fully playable, but expect some rough edges while it continues to be improved.

Beta

This is an early Beta version of Stand Awakening. Bugs, balance issues and unfinished visuals are expected. Future updates are planned to improve the game and add more polish.

It is not affiliated with or endorsed by Hirohiko Araki, Shueisha, David Production, or the official JoJo's Bizarre Adventure rights holders. All respective characters and properties belong to their respective owners.
